Situation
Symptoms:
Unable to connect to Mobility using HTC Desire by US Cellular on 3G
HTC Desire by US Cellular is able to connect to Mobility using Wifi
ERROR: "Error: Authentication failed. Please verify username and/or password" on HTC Desire when using 3G when connecting to Mobility Server
All the other devices work fine using the same user account
Unable to connect to Mobility using a specific device
Change:
Upgraded to firmware 2.2 on HTC Desire
Resolution
Set up a PTR (Reverse) Record for the DNS name of the Mobility Server. Device spends time in performing a Reverse Lookup and by that time Mobility Server times out waiting for the device.
This has been reported to Engineering as an Enhancement to increase the Timeout.
