Situation

Some emails sent or replied or forwarded from Blackberry Z10/Q10 and some android devices are messed up
Some emails sent or replies or forwarded from Blackberry Z10/Q10 and some android devices are garbled and shows HTML code
Some emails sent or replied or forwarded from Blackberry Z10/Q10 and some android devices messed up or in plain text format
Mails from Blackberry Z10 are sent as plain text instead of HTML
Messages start showing HTML code on 3rd or 4th reply.
Mail items appear as unreadable.
LG Optimus is not displaying messages correctly.

Resolution

Please select one of the following options:

Option A. To update the Mobility server using dsapp:
  1. Make sure that the Mobility server is running 1.2.5.299. Mobility Pack 1.2.5.299 can be downloaded from https://download.novell.com/patch/finder - See TID 7007012 How to update Mobility.
  2. Download Novell Cool Solutions Tool - dsapp Mobility Administration to the Mobility server.
    • From a terminal window, change directory (cd) to the directory containing the downloaded dsapp.tgz
    • Untar the download: tar xzf dsapp.tgz
    • Run dsapp.sh from a terminal window: ./dsapp.sh from the current directory
    • dsapp.sh should now present a menu in the terminal window
  3. Select Register & Update
  4. Select Update 1.2.5.299 with patch files
    (fix for garbled - KB 7012819, bug 819843)

Option B. To update the Mobility server manually:
  1. Make sure that the Mobility server is running 1.2.5.299. Mobility Pack 1.2.5.299 can be downloaded from https://download.novell.com/patch/finder - See TID 7007012 How to update Mobility.
  2. Stop DataSync by typing rcdatasync stop and press Enter.
  3. Download and extract 819843.tgz from the following link:
    ftp.novell.com/outgoing/819843.tgz
  4. Browse to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib and rename mobility_util.pyc to mobility_util.orig.
  5. Copy the extracted mobility_util.pyc to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib.
  6. Browse to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/device and rename sendmail.pyc to sendmail.orig.
  7. Browse to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/device and rename smartForward.pyc to smartForward.orig.
  8. Copy the extracted sendmail.pyc and smartForward.pyc to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/device.
  9. Start DataSync by typing rcdatasync start and press Enter.
