User login dialog showing in English with Swiss French language settings

This document (7012840) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

Novell Client for Windows 2000/XP/2003 4.91 Support Pack 5 Login
Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2 Authentication

Situation

ZCM Agent and Novell Client are installed on top of Windows XP SP3

Windows languages settings are configured to Francais (Suisse).

Message in NWGINA.LOG:
"...
Language I got from API is: FRS
Could not find any configured language specifiers. Defaulting to ENGLISH

..."

Resolution

This is fixed in version 11.2.1 - see TID 7010042 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2.1 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at http://www.novell.com/support/search.do?usemicrosite=true&searchString=7010042

Cause

NWGINA is only checking French language codes for France and Canada but not other French language codes. It reads the language code from Windows and French language codes FRM (Monaco), FRL (Luxembourg), FRB (Belgium) and FRS (Switzerland) as not recognized and so NWGINA defaults to English language.
