Unable to open attachments without saving from GroupWise Client

Environment

Novell GroupWise 8
Novell GroupWise 2012

Situation

Attached files will not open when double clicking the attachment in the bottom pane of email
Unable to open attachment by double clicking on it from the GroupWise Client

Resolution

  1. Log into ConsoleOne
  2. Navigate to user's container
  3. Open user's properties and select the General tab | Environment
  4. Set the Home Directory properly and make sure user has access to the Home Directory
OR
  1. Open iManager
  2. Select Roles and Tasks
  3. On the left side select Users | Modify User
  4. Select the user
  5. Select General | Environment
  6. Set the Home Directory properly and make sure user has access to the Home Directory

Cause

Home Directory set incorrectly to a folder where the user does not have rights
