Environment

Novell Vibe OnPrem 3

Situation

A user receives a pop-up error every time he tries to visit his own profile page. After dismissing the error, things work normally.

Steps to reproduce:
  1. Log in as user A, navigate to Personal Workspaces; select user B and choose "Follow this user"
  2. Log in as user B, and go to My Workspace, then under the "Workspace" pulldown, select Access Control and make sure All users do not have visitor access checked.
  3. Log in as user A and go to My Workspace, click on "profile" and the error will occur.

Resolution

In Vibe 3.3, user A can go to the What's New section, then to Followed People, and uncheck user B from the list of people A is following.

In Vibe 3.4 user A cannot resolve this without first having user B temporarily grant access to user A or to all users.

Cause

When user A is following user B and attempts to go to A's profile, Vibe tries to look up B's full name so that it can be displayed under the Followed section of the profile page. If user A does not have access to look up information about B, this will fail and the error message pop-up will happen.
