Environment

Micro Focus Vibe 4.0.2
Novell Vibe 4.0.1
Novell Vibe 4.0
Novell Vibe 3.4

Situation

The java applets which facilitate the use of the 'drag-and-drop file upload', 'edit-in-place' and 'workflow designer preview' features in Novell Vibe are blocked by default security settings in the latest Java 1.7.0 releases (such as 1.7.0_51).

End users may experience one of the following issues after updating to the latest Java version on their desktop:
a. Unable to add files via the drag-and-drop file upload feature
b. Unable to edit files via the Edit this file feature
c. Unable to view the workflow preview in the workflow designer

Resolution

Update: Please check and make sure your Vibe site is running the updated Java applets, see TID 7012520 for more details.

A fix for this issue is available in the Vibe 3.4 Hot Patch 1, available via the Novell Patch Finder.
For older versions of Vibe, updated applets are available under 'Vibe - Updated Java applets' via the Novell Patch Finder.
