Environment

Situation

Upgrading ZCM 11.3 media on Linux Primary fails if ISO is mounted to any directory under /root path.
Upgrading ZCM 11.3 media on Linux Primary fails if ISO is mounted to any directory named "Upgrade".

Exception:  Failure Exception during AuditZoneCreateConfigureAction :
ConfigureAction failed!: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/novell/zenworks/datamodel/utils/hibernate/AuditZoneCreator
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.novell.zenworks.datamodel.utils.hibernate.AuditZoneCreator

Resolution

For Linux : Avoid all mount folders created in zenworks specific paths like /var/opt/novell/zenworks or /opt/novell/zenworks or directly mounting to /tmp folder, since /tmp is used by system as well. You can always mount media to /tmp/<some-folder-xyz>

Do not mount to a folder named Upgrade.

Note: 11.3 documentation notes this:

Note:  Using Sybase - Before a re-install attempt, make sure that the database is not loaded and that the port 2639 is not being used. clear Audit DB specific file info and its dbsrv12 process before attempting upgrade again.
