NetIQ eDirectory 8.8 SP8
Situation
With NetIQ eDirectory 8.8 SP8, as shipped with Novell Open
Enterprise Server 11 SP2, as well as a being available as a stand-alone eDirectory
release, a branding change was made that caused the service
advertisement to change from a "Novell eDirectory" to a "NetIQ
eDirectory" name.
For 3rd party backup application vendors that were relying on the "Novell eDirectory" name advertising in order to be able and load the tsands module, this introduced the problem that after the service advertisement change, tsands was no longer able to load and thus causing the backup application to fail browsing the eDirectory tree and backup any eDirectory objects.

Resolution
The changes that introduced these problems have been reverted to
their original settings.
A hot-patch for OES11 SP2 has been released to the respective update repositories (April 2014 OES11SP2 Hot Patch 9140).
