Microsoft Windows 8.1 Upgrade

Situation

After upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 using the Microsoft Store's upgrade installation, eDirectory login and NCP connectivity is working correctly, but anything that depends on or would utilize the Novell Client's network provider fails.

This problem can also occur in other upgrade scenarios, such as in a Windows 7 to Windows 8 upgrade using DVD media, or when upgrading from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2012 R2 using DVD media.

Resolution

Update to Novell Client 2 SP3 for Windows (IR9) or newer.
