My Files and Shared with me folders empty after Desktop 2.0 upgrade

Environment

Novell Filr 2.0
Novell Filr Desktop client 2.0 (build 214)

Situation

End users who use a locale other than English such as Italian, French, Nederlands, etc. and have translated names for the "My Files", "Shared with me" and "Shared by me" folders (such as "Filr Personali" or "Mijn Bestanden") lose the contents of all such 'translated' folders immediately after upgrading to the Desktop 2.0 client.

It appears that the data is lost but in fact the data is still present in the Filr Storage folder located under: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Filr Storage. You can copy/paste the data from there back into the Filr synchronized folder which appears empty.

Note: This problem only affects upgrades from Desktop 1.x to Desktop 2.0 where user's locale is non-English.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is available in the Filr 2.0 Hot Patch 1 (which also delivers an updated Filr Desktop client), available via the Novell Patch Finder.

With the fix in place, the next sync with the updated Desktop client will restore the files back to Filr since they are still present on the local file system.
