User is prompted to login twice

Client for Open Enterprise Server 2 SP4 (IR3)
ZENWorks 11.4.1

Situation

When logging in on a Windows 10 workstation, the user is prompted to login twice; first with the Novell Credential Provider (as expected) but then again after the ZenWorks popup has appeared and cleared.
 

Resolution

The fix for this problem is included in Client for Open Enterprise Server 2 SP4 (IR5), and later.

Additional Information

Previous to the fix being available, the following two workarounds were offered:

1. Enable the IdleTimeOut policy
In Regedit, create the DWORD (32-bit) value "IdleTimeOut" under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI].  Set this value to "60000" (60 seconds) initially, and increase if necessary.

2. Enable CTRL+ALT+DEL

Run "netplwiz".  When the "User Accounts" window opens, select the "Advanced" tab and check the box for "Require users to press Ctrl-Alt-Del."

Note that this option can be enabled using a Group Policy.
