Is Kanaka supported with a DSFW only install?

Situation

In an OES install where the DSfW (Domain Services for Windows) is used as the only authentication directory, is Kanaka supported?

Resolution

Kanaka is only supported with a traditional eDirectory install, and NOT a straight DSfW install.

NOTE: DSfW is a set of extensions to eDirectory that mimic a Windows Domain. The recommended practice for installing DSfW, is to install it alongside an existing eDirectory install which would then add the 'Domain' objects to the existing tree, letting DSfW act like the Domain Controller, while leaving eDirectory, and specifically the LDAP functionality of eDirectory untouched. If Kanaka were installed against such an environment and pointed to the eDirectory install, it would work, and is supported.
