Micro Focus Desktop Containers
Situation
When using Micro Focus Desktop Containers (MFDC) Studio, using the "Publish to Server" button results in the following error:
"Publish Failed - An error occurred while pushing the image. An error occurred while uploading the virtual machine."
Resolution
MFDC Servers can be configured to operate in two different mode.
Applying the traditional MFDC traditional license causes the server to operate in Streaming Mode that will deliver Virtual Applications to Devices.
Applying the MFDC Hub license causes the server to operate as a Hub Server, which is used as a repository for Virtual Application Developers.
The publish button is designed to publish the application to a Hub Server not a Streaming Server.
To publish Virtual Applications to a streaming server, connect to the Virtual Server's Administrative Portal from the Studio Device.
Note: Installing a Hub Server is optional and not required to create or stream virtual applications.
