Environment

Micro Focus Filr 3.2
Micro Focus Filr Desktop client for macOS
Apple macOS 10.13 (High Sierra)

Situation

After upgrading the Apple macOS to 10.13 (High Sierra) the Filr Desktop client becomes unusable.
Observed issues may include the following symptoms:

- Filr client freezes due to the delay in relaunching the client
- Filr client hangs
- Filr syncapp crashes
- Filr fails to mount

As a result, the end user experience is mainly that the Filr folder is either not shown or not populated with the data.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is available in the Filr 3.3 Update. Please update your Filr Desktop client for Mac to the version shipped with Filr 3.3 Update.

Cause

Some of the changes to the macOS frameworks (such as the Finder Plugin) that Filr is tightly integrated with have undergone significant changes in High Sierra. Due to these changes, the Filr Desktop client for Mac is unable to initialize the Mac Finder Plugin which causes the startup problem.
