Client for OES installation fails with error 0x80070005

Client for Open Enterprise Server 2 SP4 (IR7a)


During the installation of the Client the following error is displayed:

An unknown installation error occurred: 0x80070005 (-2147024891)

The installation process is halted and the Client is not successfully installed on the workstation.


Disable the Anti-Virus application during the installation process.


Error code 0x80070005 means "ACCESS DENIED." You may see it because of insufficient file or registry permissions needed to install the Client. This can be a result of malware, anti-virus, or some application purposefully changing the permissions. 

Also, be sure you have administrator rights on the machine where the Client is being installed.
