Environment

GroupWise 18
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP4
VMWare 6.7 or later

Situation

You run GroupWise in the clustered VMWare 6.7 or later environment and see GWIA becomes unavailable very often.

Resolution

This is based on the customer feedback that run GroupWise 18 in VMWare 6.7 cluster environment. A virtual machine that hosted GWIA had a default EVC settings (Enhanced vMotion Compability) on the a CPU which is the "Skylake Generation". Changing this default CPU settings into "Westermere" solved the GWIA crash problems.
