Calendar events created in GroupWise are not synced automatically on Mac.

Environment

GroupWise 18.2.0

Situation

You have created new Calendar item in a GroupWise mailbox but this is not synced to Mac. Similarly when you created new Calendar event in the Mac Calendar application, this was not synced into a GroupWise mailbox.
In the calsvr.log there are exceptions listed when you try to sync Calendar events.

Resolution

There were issues caused by our NPNS gateway which did not support TLSv1.2 protocol version.
You could see protocol complains in the /var/log/novell/groupwise/calsvr/calsvr.log file when trying to sync events between GroupWise and Mac.
This has been fixed (since June 25th 2020). You can now run gwcalsvr script with the specific TLSv1.2 version as stated in the gwcalsvr.secure script:

1. Delete existing gwcalsvr script in /opt/novell/groupwise/calsvr directory.
2. Create a copy of the gwcalsvr.secure and then rename it to gwcalsvr.
3. Start the service "rcgwcalsvr start".

Despite this fix on the NPNS gateway site, there is one bug on our gwcalsvr site.
When you create a new event in the GroupWise Clendar, this is not automatically synced on your Mac Calendar application. You must still manually refresh Calendars to see those on your Mac.
New Calendar items created on Mac, however, do sync automatically in your GroupWise mailbox.
It has been reported to our engineering.
