Environment

Client for Open Enterprise Server (Novell Client)
Windows 10
Remote Desktop Connection

Situation

Attempting to login via a Remote Desktop Connection results in an error:  "The user has requested a type of logon (e.g. interactive or network) that has not been granted. An administrator has control over who may logon interactively and through the network."

Resolution

Remove the affected users/groups from the 'Deny log on through Remote Desktop Services' policy.
This policy can be found by running the 'Group Policy Editor' (gpedit.msc).  Within the editor,  go to:
Computer Configuration | Windows Settings |  Security Settings | Local Policies | User Rights Assignment | Deny log on through Remote Desktop Services

While in the editor, check the 'Allow log on on locally' and 'Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services' policies to ensure appropriate users/groups are present.  These policies are located in the same area as the 'Deny log on through Remote Desktop Services' policy is located.

Cause

Users had been added to the 'Deny log on through Remote Desktop Services' policy.

Additional Information

This error is not generated by the Client for OES.  It is an error returned by the Windows operating system in response to the policies mentioned above.
