Inactive Session Monitor (ISM)
Situation
Inactive Session Monitor profile, PSSYSOPR, is sending messages.
Error: 'This job cannot be disconnected at this time. This job is a group job, system request job, a held job, or a PC support job running an organizer. Notify your DP staff.'
Inactive Session Monitor (ISM) is not disconnecting a group and/or server jobs.
Resolution
On the Inactive Session Monitor (ISM), Option 6 Display/Change System Parameters, "Sign-off options:" "S" and "P" are the options that will work for server/group jobs. In addition to that parameter, there needs to be a call to the initial program, PSSECURE/ASPGM. This can be accomplished by either adding this call to an existing initial program or adding it to the user's profile. Sign-off option "D" will not work for server type sessions. Client Access/Telnet initiated sessions are considered to be server type jobs.
Cause
Either the initial Program does not include ASPGM, which is needed for S or P.
or
ISM Configuration specifies Sign-off option "D" which will not work for server type jobs.
