Novell Open Enterprise Server (Linux based)

Situation

GroupWise Status on Linux is unused

GWIA status is unused
WebAccess status is unused
Post Office Agent is unused
rcgrpwise status displays status unused
rcgrpwise status is unused

Resolution

1. Make sure that the agent startup file mentioned in /etc/opt/novell/groupwise/gwha.conf is in the correct case. Agent startup files  can be found in /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/share directory (without cluster) and in the shared partition/volume (with cluster)
2. Make sure that the "unused" agents are not running in the background by typing the following comamnd on the terminal
ps aux | grep gwmta | grep -v grep
ps aux | grep gwpoa | grep -v grep
ps aux | grep gwia | grep -v grep
ps aux | grep gwinter | grep -v grep
If the agent are running in the background, shut down by typing "kill -9 xxxx" without quotes and press enter (where xxxx stands for the PID of the process and is in the second column of ps)
3. If GroupWise Agents are running as root user then rename uid.conf file located in /etc/opt/novell/groupwise/agents directory if it exists. Also rename the uid.run file found in domain, post office and gwia directory and load the agents.
