Number of Rings with openais/corosync

This document (7006345) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1

Situation

In SLES11 HAE there can only be one ring configured in

   openais.conf

This one ring has to have the number 0

In SLES11 Service Pack 1 HAE there can be more than one ring in

   corosync.conf

Resolution

This is not a bug but result of the cluster software. While corosync (SLES11 SP1 HAE) can support more than one communication ring, openais (SLES11 HAE) can only support one.

There is no need to use only one network card on SLES11 HAE with openais. With bonding more than a single network card can be used for cluster communication.
