Novell GroupWise 7 Gateway for Microsoft Exchange

Situation

Sending mail from GroupWise to Exchange causes an error on the gateway and the mail is discarded.
Error (E01) 042027: Error converting addresses between MS Exchange and GroupWise formats
Mails from Exchange to GroupWise still work.
The problem happens after applying a Microsoft Exchange server update:
MS06-029 - Vulnerability in Microsoft Exchange Server Running Outlook Web Access Could Allow Script Injection (912442)

Resolution

Go into Active Directory Users and Computers. Click on View | Advanced Features.
  1. Expand the server | Click on Users
  2. Click on the user you are running the gateway as | Right Click | Properties.
  3. Click the 'Member of' Tab
  4. Click the Add button to make this user a member of a group.
  5. In the "Enter the object names" box, type: Exchange Domain Servers.
  6. Click OK and OK again to close the dialog boxes.
  7. Restart the Windows server.
The gateway should now be able to send messages.
