Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 - ZDM7 SP1
Situation
In rare cases, User associated Group Polices will not apply when users logout, and then login. This happens when the Group Policies are changed and then a logout / login test happens within a 5 minute time frame.
Resolution
In cases where more accuracy is needed and network traffic is not an issue, a key with the name "ForceGPClearCache" should be created in the registry HKLM\SOFTWARE\Novell\Workstation Manager location. This key only works if at a ZEN7Sp1IR3a HP1 code level or later.

Additional Information
By default, the ZENPol caches the assignments for five minutes. So, if the user logs in within 5 of minutes the last time the assignment was read, it won't pick up the new assignments. The reason for this cache period is to alleviate excessive network traffic due to constantly re-reading the policies.
