Novell ZENworks 7 Server Management Support Pack 1 - ZSM7 SP1 Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED)
Situation
Nal distribution through ZSM TED does not deploy.
TED.LOG contains
ERROR: "Gather <distribution name> stopped with unknown error."
Resolution
To obtain a hot patch with the fix for this problem, follow the instructions in KB 3809227 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7 Server Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
Additional Information
In this case the problem was that the Source Root was incorrect. A
change has been made to make this error more clear in newer versions of
code. The error should now be Error: "Source root folder name cannot be
null / The application object cannot be placed outside the source root
context". This should make it more clear for those with this
configuration issue in the future.
