User-associated Bundles with System Requirements may not appear until refresh

Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management

Situation

Bundles which have been associated to a user, and which have system requirements, such as an Environment Variable, do not show up until refresh occurs, even though they may have been visible, and usable, in previous sessions.

Resolution

This is fixed in version 10.0.2 - see KB 3486285 "Updates to ZENworks 10 Configuration Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Additional Information

This issue occurs on boot-up, and is not related to the fact that new bundles are not seen until the first refresh (see "Random Time to Wait" in section 7.3 "Setting the Device Refresh Schedule", in "ZENworks 10 Configuration Management System Administration Reference" found at https://www.novell.com/documentation/zcm10/index.html)
The problem occurs because of a timing issue on startup: when the system requirements are evaluated for the user, if the user space is not properly initialized, the process returns an error, and NAL assumes that the requirement has not been met.
