make: *** [nds_import_nds_policies] Error 34

End of DSfW installation and provisioningâ€

Some entries with special international characters were found.

Resolution

Under target 'nds_import_nds_policies', the password policies of the

DSfW tree is updated by updating the existing 'nspmPasswordPolicyDN' attribute value to point to 'CN=Domain Password Policy,CN=Password Policies,CN=System,$(MAPPEDDOMAINNC)'.

An ldapsearch is performed to obtain the objects bearing this attribute and an updation ldif is generated out of it. The ldapsearch returns back the unicode/special character values in base64 format, the above error was encountered. If the dn containing the special character is removed the install should proceed.

A bug has been created for this issue. Until a fix is released the objects with special international characters can be renamed and the install can be attempted again.
