This section helps you use ZENworks 11 SP2 to perform an unattended, online upgrade from SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11 SP1 to SLES 11 SP2. After you perform the steps in the following sections, your SLES 11 SP1 servers are upgraded based on the schedule you set. This involves replication of bundles from the Novell repository by using the Subscription feature, deploying to the agent on a certain schedule, then creating a bundle with a run script action to upgrade the service pack.
As an example, suppose that you need to upgrade a set of managed devices that have SLES 11 SP1 installed with the latest SLES 11 SP1 updates in the ZENworks 11 SP2 Management Zone.
Prerequisites:
A ZENworks 11SP2 server is installed and running in your network. For more information, see the ZENworks 11SP2 Installation Guide.
The ZENworks 11 SP2 Agent is installed on each SLES 11SP1 server that you plan to upgrade.
Each SLES 11 SP1 server is registered with the ZENworks 11 SP2 server.
(Optional) Each SLES 11 SP1 server is updated with the latest patches.
