The following is a list of tips and tricks for the VM Management interface, so you can to maximize your use of VMs in your Data Center:
Double-click the status bar to quickly bring up the Error Log view.
Double-click the right portion of the status bar to quickly bring up the Progress view.
Double-click a VM collection to bring up the Warehouse Editor view.
Double-click a VM in the Workspace view to bring up the wizard in edit mode.
Double-click the blank area in the Workspace view to bring up the wizard in creation mode.
Double-click a View or an editor tab to maximize it to a full window; double-click it to restore it to its previous size and layout position.
To quickly move around the VM Creation Wizard, click any of the blue items in the VM Properties Table at the left side of the wizard.
Edit views do not close automatically when switching between views. In order to avoid having VM Management Show Version edit views cluttering up your Monitoring perspective or to avoid having Monitoring edit views cluttering up your VM Management perspective click
> in the menu you can select to open a new perspective . This option allows you, any time you select one of the perspectives at the top of the screen, to open in a new window to allow you to keep the VM Management and Monitoring edit views separate while working.If you want to only work with one window and not have multiple windows open when you switch perspectives, click
> and select, in the menu, to have the new perspectives open .Double-click any device name in the monitored servers view to load as many Monitoring editor views as you want. The editor windows will stack with the other open editor windows you have open.
Editors can be dragged anywhere within the main window to re-dock anywhere you want. They can stack or tile but cannot be dragged outside of the main window.
Click the
button in the top right corner of the edit window to open an external browser to display the information in a full-sized browser window.Click the
button at the top of the screen to refresh the views and any open editor views. Click the individual refresh button to refresh the specific view or editor view.Click
> and select to change your VM Management Server URL as well the username associated with that server.Click
> > to show the Progress view at the bottom of the VM Management window.Click
