4.11 The Trace and Error Log Views

The Trace and Error Log views help you troubleshoot Designer.

4.11.1 Trace View

The Trace view includes the following icons in the icon bar at the top of the view:

Clear Trace

Clears the Trace view.

Save

Saves Trace view contents to a .txt file

Preferences

Opens the Preferences window.

Minimize/Maximize

Minimizes and maximizes the Trace view.

4.11.2 Error Log View

The Error Log view includes the following icons in the icon bar at the top of the view:

Export Log

Enables you to export the error log to a location on the file system.

Import Log

Enables you to import a file from the file system to the error log.

Clear Log Viewer

Clears all the entries in the Error Log viewer.

Delete Log

Deletes all items in the error log.

Open Log

Opens an error log entry.

Restore Log

Restores log entries that have been previously cleared.

Menu

Reveals a menu drop-down list.

Menu > Filters

Opens the Log Filters window.

Menu > Activate on New Events

Activates a log entry on a new event.

Minimize/Maximize

Minimizes and maximizes the Error Log view.
