JEditor is a basic text editor designed primarily for editing NetWare* configuration (.ncf) files. When you open an .ncf file, comment lines are highlighted automatically.
In JEditor, you use standard menus and keystrokes to open, navigate, search, edit, and save documents. Only one document can be open at a time, and lines do not wrap to fit the window. To open a second document without closing the first, you must start a new instance of JEditor.

There are various ways you can customize the document view in JEditor. For example, you can turn off various features, including the ruled lines in the document background and the automatic line numbering in the left margin. You can also use the Zoom box on the toolbar to zoom the document view in or out.
One setting that you cannot change is the tab size; it is fixed at three characters. Any changes you make to your document view settings are lost when you exit JEditor.

At any time while using JEditor, you can record a sequence of keystrokes and save it as a macro. Then, you can play back the sequence of keystrokes later by running the macro.
You can record and run macros across documents, but once a new document is opened, operations done in the previous document cannot be undone. You can also launch a new instance of JEditor from a macro, but the macro cannot continue running in the new instance of JEditor.
