Setting Up GroupWise

GroupWise® runs on an eDirectory server. For the lab implementation, GroupWise should be installed on the server that is hosting your Workforce Tree. Having GroupWise on your Workforce Tree allows GroupWise to participate in the preconfigured data exchange through the provisioning repository. This configuration streamlines lab setup, but will not address many organizations' configurations. Customization will be required in most cases.

Work with your GroupWise Administrator to complete installation and setup. For the lab configuration, install the same version of GroupWise on the Workforce Tree that you are running in your production environment. For GroupWise installation instructions, see the GroupWise Documentation Web site.

The remote driver for GroupWise will be installed on a separate Windows workstation. To prepare this workstation, complete the following sections:

Details about driver architecture and driver/application relationships are discussed in the driver implementation guides. You can find driver implementation guides on the Novell Documentation Web Site.

Prerequisites

Collecting Configuration Information

You'll need to provide a number of system-specific details when you install and configure Novell Nsure Resources for GroupWise. Some of these details can be collected before you complete the following procedures, and others will be defined during the process.

Print and complete the Import Driver Form for GroupWise, which mirrors the actual form you will fill out in iManager, or print the following table and record information there.

System Value

IP Address for the Primary Domain Server

Primary Domain Path

Username

eDirectory User Context

Password

Default Post Office DN

Employees Group Object Distinguished Name

Managers Group Object Distinguished Name

IP Address and Port Number for the Remote Loader

(See Installing and Configuring the Remote Loader and Driver .)

Driver Object Password

(See Installing and Configuring the Remote Loader and Driver .)

Remote Loader Password

(See Installing and Configuring the Remote Loader and Driver .)

Configuring Driver Authentication

This driver handles system authentication differently than most DirXML drivers. In order for the driver to authenticate to the GroupWise domain, both the driver and the GroupWise domain systems must first authenticate to its respective operating system. (If the driver is on the same computer as the domain database, you do not need to configure authentication.)

As part of configuring authentication, you will create accounts with the same username and password on each system and assign the account administrative rights.

In order to configure authentication you should:
