Acquainting E-Mail Users with the Exchange Gateway

After you have started the Exchange Gateway, GroupWise users and Exchange users need only the following information in order to start using the gateway immediately:

Addressing Messages

If you have set up directory synchronization and exchange, as described in Enabling Directory Synchronization and Exchange of Address Books, GroupWise users can select Exchange users from the GroupWise Address Book, and Exchange users can select GroupWise users from the Exchange Address Book.

If you have not set up directory synchronization and exchange, you should explain to GroupWise users how to add Exchange users to their personal address books, as described in Adding Individual Exchange Users to Personal Address Books. You should also explain to both GroupWise users and Exchange users how to manually type addresses in the To field of messages.

GroupWise
to Exchange

Syntax:
gateway_name:exchange_organization.exchange_site.recipient's_mailboxt_name

Examples:
Exchange:XYZCorp.Provo.SJones

Exchange
to GroupWise

Syntax:
address_type:domain.post_office.user_ID

Examples:
GWise:Corporate.Marketing.LTanaka

Understanding What GroupWise Send Options Are Available through the Gateway

GroupWise users can use some, but not all, GroupWise send options through the Exchange Gateway. The following GroupWise send options are supported:

Priority (high, normal, low)
Classification (normal, proprietary, confidential, secret, top secret, for your eyes only)
Reply Requested (when convenient or within x days)
Delay Delivery (deliver item after x days)
Notify Recipients (if enabled as described in Enabling Message Status for Sent Items)

The following GroupWise send options are not supported:

Expiration Date (after x days)
Auto-Delete (when the last recipient has deleted the message)
Conceal Subject
Require Password to Complete Routed Item
Sign Digitally
Encrypt for Recipients
