7.3 Stopping the Exchange Gateway

Occasionally, it might be necessary to stop the gateway to perform maintenance on the Windows server or for some other purpose. When you stop the gateway, any messages being sent from GroupWise users are queued in one of the domain\wpgate\exchange\wpcsout\ngaxxxx\0-7 directories. Messages sent from Exchange users are moved to the gateway’s mail store. The messages waiting in each system are processed as soon as the gateway is started again.

Follow the instructions for the installation option you chose for the Exchange Gateway:

7.3.1 Stopping the Exchange Gateway If It Is Running As an Application

  1. At the Exchange Gateway server console, click File > Exit.

    or

    Press F7.

  2. Click Yes to stop the gateway.

7.3.2 Stopping the Exchange Gateway If It Is Running As a Service

  1. At the Exchange Gateway server console, click Start > Settings > Control Panel.

  2. Double-click Services.

  3. Select the Exchange Gateway service, then click Stop.

Recall that the Exchange Gateway Service is named after the domain and gateway.
