3.0 Installing the Active Directory Driver

If you do not have an existing Active Directory driver, proceed with this section. If you have an existing driver, skip this section and proceed to Section 4.0, Upgrading the Active Directory Driver.

Installing the driver adds the driver configuration file, extends the schema, and places a utility to help with the configuration of the driver. It does not create any objects. After the driver is installed, the driver object needs to be created and configured. See Section 5.0, Configuring the Active Directory Driver for instructions on how to create and configure the Active Directory driver.

The Active Directory driver can be installed locally or remotely. You need to decide which way you want to install the driver before proceeding.
