10.16 Password Synchronization Event Messages

The password filter has been fully initialized

Explanation: This message shows that the filter is initialized. It shows the Domain Name, the Computer Name (where the filter is running), and the Host Name (where the driver is running) fields.

The password filter could not initialize its registry values

Explanation: This message shows that there an error occured while initializing the password filter registry keys in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\PwFilter\Data folder.

Request to allocate xx bytes of memory failed

Explanation: This message shows that memory allocation request has failed.

The program tried to free an invalid memory pointer

Explanation: This message shows that the password filter tried to free a bad pointer in the memory.

The password filter RPC server failed to load

Explanation: This message shows that the initialization of the RPC server has failed.
Possible Cause: The RPC endpoints of the filter had not been registered with the RPC service.

The password synchronization notification for user xx failed

Explanation: This message shows that an error occured while storing the password in the registry at the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\PwFilter\Data folder.

The Cryptographic Service Provider has defaulted to xx. Encryption will be downgraded to the standards of this provider. Execution of the password synchronization server will not be affected. If higher encryption standards are required, please contact your network administrator.

Explanation: This message shows that the Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP) supported on the machine is Microsoft Base Cryptographic Provider.
Action: For higher encryption standards, Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider should be supported on the machine.

The password for user xx in directory yy was not synchronized because the password change timed out

Explanation: This message shows that the password for the specified user has been timed out. It is a stale entry and is deleted.
