The following sections correspond to the scenarios in Section 2.1, Where to Install the GroupWise Driver. Complete the steps for the scenario you’ve chosen:
Complete the following steps for a local installation. In this scenario, the Metadirectory engine, Identity Vault, and GroupWise driver are on the same server. The GroupWise database is on the same server or a separate server.
Install the Metadirectory server (Metadirectory engine and drivers) on the same Linux/Windows server as the GroupWise domain database. This is Option 1 in Figure 2-1, Local System Configuration.
or
Install the Metadirectory server (Metadirectory engine and drivers) on a Windows server that can access the Windows/NetWare server where the GroupWise domain database resides. This is Option 2 in Figure 2-1, Local System Configuration.

Complete the following steps for a remote installation. In this scenario, the GroupWise driver is on a different server than the Metadirectory engine and Identity Vault.
If you have not already done so, install a Metadirectory server. For instructions, see Installing the Metadirectory Server

Install the Remote Loader (and GroupWise driver) on the Windows/Linux server where the GroupWise domain database resides. This is Option 1 in Figure 2-2, Remote System Configuration.
or
Install the Remote Loader (and GroupWise driver) on a Windows server that can access the Windows/NetWare server where the GroupWise domain database resides. This is Option 2 in Figure 2-2, Remote System Configuration.
