You can install one or more of the file service components included in NNLS. Functional overviews of each component are included in Overview.
To decide which file service components to install, you should match service features to your file service requirements.

To plan for your NNLS file services:
If you have not already done so, print the PDF version of the "NNLS Planning Worksheet" located in the Novell Nterprise Linux Services Installation Guide.
For the file services you plan to install, compute the total additional RAM required (above the basic system requirement).
Refer to the following points for help:
iFolder: Suggestions for calculating the additional RAM you will need are contained in "Preparing to Install iFolder" in the Novell iFolder 2.1 Installation and Administration Guide.
Record the additional RAM required in the "Server Hardware Requirements" section of the "NNLS Planning Worksheet" you printed in Step 1.
For the file services you plan to install, compute the total additional disk space required (above the basic system requirement).
Refer to the following points for help:
iFolder: Suggestions for calculating the additional disk space you will need are contained in "Preparing to Install iFolder" in the Novell iFolder 2.1 Installation and Administration Guide.
Samba: You should allocate enough disk space for the partition containing the /home directory to meet your users' file storage needs.
NetStorage: There are no disk space requirements because NetStorage provides only access to other file storage services.
Record the additional disk space required in the "Server Hardware Requirements" section of the "NNLS Planning Worksheet" you printed in Step 1.
