X.25 SNMP Trap Generation
X.25 generates diagnostic SNMP trap control, which provides an indication of typically abnormal conditions and network access problems on the X.25 network interface.
You can set the following traps for X.25:
- LAPB Link Up Trap---Indicates that the X.25 LAPB interface initialization procedure has completed and the data link has entered the information transfer state as indicated by RFC 1381, SNMP lapbFlowCurrentMode object value of something other than informationTransfer (5). The trap PDU variable binding list contains information identifying the date, time, dial access router (DAR) system ID, interface name, and the ifIndex value of the interface that entered the link-up state.
- LAPB Link Down Trap---Indicates that the X.25 LAPB interface has exited the information transfer state as indicated by RFC 1381, SNMP lapbFlowCurrentMode object value of something other than informationTransfer (5). The trap PDU variable binding list contains information identifying the date, UTC time, DAR system ID, interface name, and the ifIndex value of the interface that entered the link-down state.
- X.25 Call Attempt Failure Trap---Indicates the failure of a DTE (Call Request) or DCE (Incoming Call) attempt to establish an SVC connection. The trap PDU variable binding list contains information identifying the date, time, DAR system ID, interface name, ifIndex value, logical channel number (LCN), call direction (inbound or outbound), and the cause and diagnostic codes associated with the failure cause and diagnostic codes defined in the Recommendation X.25.
- X.25 Call Clear Trap (Call Termination)---Indicates an inbound (Clear Indication) or outbound (Clear Request) attempt to terminate a previously established SVC connection. This can be either a normal or an unexpected clear. The trap PDU variable binding list contains information identifying the date, time, DAR system ID, interface name, ifIndex value, LCN, call direction (inbound or outbound), and the cause and diagnostic codes associated with the clear cause and diagnostic codes defined in the Recommendation X.25.
- X.25 Restart Trap---Indicates a DTE (Restart Request) or DCE (Restart Indication) attempt to reinitialize the DTE/DCE interface. Although similar in function to the restart trap defined by RFC 1382, this trap contains additional information. The trap PDU variable binding list contains information identifying the date, time, DAR system ID, interface name, ifIndex value, and the cause and diagnostic codes associated with the restart. This trap should always be suppressed during the first initialization of the DTE/DCE interface.
- X.25 Reset Trap---Indicates a DTE (Reset Request) or DCE (Request Indication) attempt to reinitialize a specific PVC connection. Although similar in function to the reset trap defined by RFC 1382, this trap contains additional information. The trap PDU variable binding list contains information identifying the date, time, DAR system ID, interface name, ifIndex, LCN, and the cause and diagnostic codes associated with the reset.
