X.25 Advantages

This section covers the following two main advantages of using the X.25 protocol:

Global Networking

The ITU-T Recommendation X.25 has become an international standard for PDN vendors. Packet-switched data connections can cross national boundaries, effectively creating a worldwide PDN environment. This means that X.25, as a well-established network protocol, offers reliable connectivity at a lower cost.

Connection Quality

Conventional analog dial-up connections are susceptible to the inherent limitations of circuit-switched analog lines, especially over international connections. Examples of such limitations include echo and attenuation. PDN vendors can provide better quality end-to-end data connections over NetWare Link/X.25 than over conventional analog dial-up connections. A NetWare Link/X.25 network guarantees reliable data transmission between two points.
