1.0 Overview

The information in this Release Notes file pertains to Novell® PlateSpin® Recon 3.7.1.

This product contains undocumented utilities that Novell Support might use to diagnose or correct problems.

2.0 New Features in This Release

PlateSpin Recon 3.7.1 includes the following new features and enhancements:

  • Support for cross-domain authentication that allows you to connect the PlateSpin Recon 3.7.1 Client to the PlateSpin Recon Server regardless of their domains.

  • Support for generating three new reports based on the monitored data:

    • Disk Allocation Report: Displays the partitioned and unpartitioned disk space information per disk grouped by machine.

    • Volume Utilization - Average Report: Displays the average volume utilization data per volume grouped by machine.

    • Volume Utilization - Peak Report: Displays the peak value of the volume utilization data per volume grouped by machine.

3.0 Product Issues

3.1 Issues Resolved by PlateSpin Recon 3.7.1

The following issue that was discovered in the original shipping version of PlateSpin Recon 3.7 has been resolved in this release:

  • 550155: Monitoring of Windows machine fails with the access denied error if the domain user credentials are used.

3.2 Continuing Issues in PlateSpin Recon 3.7.1

Some of the issues that were discovered in the original shipping version of PlateSpin Recon 3.7 have not yet been resolved. For continuing issues, review the PlateSpin Recon 3.7 Release Notes.

3.3 Known Issues in PlateSpin Recon 3.7.1

3.3.1 You are prompted to provide the PlateSpin Recon Server login credentials after successfully launching the PlateSpin Recon Client on a standalone device

If the PlateSpin Recon 3.7.1 Client is installed on a standalone device and you have successfully logged into the client by selecting the Use Windows Session option, you are prompted to provide the PlateSpin Recon Server login credentials.

Workaround: None. Provide the PlateSpin Recon Server credentials when prompted.
