3.7 Applying Landing Page Elements to a Folder

Landing pages and landing page elements can enhance the presentation and utility of your Novell Teaming folders. You can set up a landing page on your folder, or you can simply apply some key landing page elements to the folder, such as hiding the Teaming masthead, the main sidebar, and so forth.

3.7.1 Displaying a Landing Page on a Folder

Just as landing pages can enhance the presentation and utility of your Teaming workspaces, they can can also enhance your Teaming folders.

For information on how you can create a landing page for a folder, see Section 6.10, Creating a Landing Page for a Folder.

3.7.2 Applying Specific Landing Page Elements to a Folder

You can leverage certain landing page elements in your Teaming folder without implementing an actual landing page.

For example, you might want to hide the main sidebar from your folder in order to create more viewing room for users who view the folder.

You can apply the following landing page elements to a folder, without implementing an actual landing page:

  • Hide the Teaming masthead

  • Hide the main sidebar

  • Hide the main menu bar

  • Hide the Footer toolbar

When hiding these Teaming features, you can elect to retain the following functionality:

  • Show the branding area

  • Show the My Favorites and My Teams links

  • Show the Workspace tree

To make these modifications to your folder without implementing an actual landing page, you need to add the Landing Page element to your folder Form definition. For information on how to add the Landing Page element to your folder Form definition, see Section 8.0, Creating Custom Folder Views.
