At the time of installing ZfD 3.2 in an existing ZfD setup, the scanner does not complete the scanning process or the scanner crashes on a Windows/NetWare Server

Action:  Clear the server connection to the scanner.

Follow these steps on a NetWare server:

  1. From the server prompt, run MONITOR.NLM.

  2. From the File Open/Lock activity > Select an entry.

  3. Locate the \PUBLIC\ZENWORKS directory that contains the NTSCAN32.EXE. Select the NTSCAN32.EXE file > press Enter.

  4. Check the connection number for the file.

  5. In Options > Connections, select the particular connection > press the Delete key to clear the connection > click Yes.

  6. Repeat the steps to clear the connection for WINSCAN.EXE.

Follow these steps on a Windows NT server:

  1. From the Administrative Tools > click Server Manager.

  2. From View > Servers, double-click the server > click Properties > Sessions > click In Use.

  3. Select the following files:

    NTSCAN32.EXE
    WINSCAN.EXE
    LOC32VC.DLL
    ZENPOL32.DLL

  4. Click Close Resources.

Follow these steps on a Windows 2000 server:

  1. Click Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Shared Folder > Open Files.

  2. Right-click the NTSCAN32.EXE Scanner file > click Disconnect.

  3. Repeat step 2 for other files (WINSCAN.EXE, LOC32VC.DLL, and ZENPOL32.DLL) and disconnect the open files.
