12.3 Configuring the New ZENworks Source

Configure the new ZENworks source to track license compliance status of Novell ZENworks software. For this, you should know the sources of ZENworks domains and then configure the License Information Source (LIS).

IMPORTANT:The ZENworks compliance is a reference to the customer that provides information about the ZENworks license consumption in the zone.

You can configure an LIS for the local zone or a remote zone.

To configure the new source of ZENworks:

  1. In ZENworks Control Center, click Configuration > Asset Management.

  2. In the Asset Management page, go to License Information Sources panel.

  3. Click New > ZENworks.

    In the New ZENworks Source Configuration dialog, specify the following details to add an LIS for the remote ZENworks zone:

    • Source Name: For identification, provide a name for the new source of ZENworks for which you want to configure and track license compliance.

    • Server Address: Specify the IP address or DNS of the remote ZENworks server for which you want to track license compliance.

    • Server Credentials: You can either add the new ZENworks admin credentials or browse and select existing ZENworks admin credentials. For details on adding a credential, see Adding a Credential.

    • Verify Connection: Click this button to verify whether the connection to the specified remote ZENworks server is successful. After successful connection, the Connected to remote server message is displayed, then click OK.

      The Unable to connect with the server message is displayed, if connection is not successful.

      When you verify the connection for the first time, the certificate information is displayed. Click the View Certificate link, to view the certificate details.

    or

    Select Create a License Information Source for the local zone to add an LIS for the local ZENworks zone.

  4. Select the Create Catalog products, licensed products, and entitlements automatically check box to automatically create the catalog products, licensed products and entitlements for the configured licensed information source.

  5. Click OK.

    The configured ZENworks source will be listed under the License Information Sources panel.

12.3.1 Editing ZENworks Source Configuration

To edit the ZENworks source configuration:

  1. Select the check box next to the ZENworks source that you want to edit.

  2. Click the Edit drop-down.

  3. Click Configure Settings to launch the Edit ZENworks Source Configuration dialog, then edit the required details.

12.3.2 Renaming ZENworks Source Configuration

The Rename Configuration dialog allows you to modify the name of the existing ZENworks source. Modify the name of the configured ZENworks source and click OK.
