8.1 Subscribing to the External Services

8.1.1 Using the zac Command

You can subscribe to external services by using the following command:

zac external-service-add --type service_type properties service_URL service_name

Examples:

To subscribe to an authenticated YUM repository, run the following command:

zac external-service-add –-type YUM url_of_the_repository service_name -Dusername=username -Dpassword=password

To subscribe to a ZYpp service, run the following command:

zac external-service-add –-type ZYPP url_of_the_service service_name

8.1.2 Using the ZENworks Icon

The ZENworks Adaptive Agent provides information on how to register external services such as YUM, ZYpp, and Mount to resolve dependencies and to install or upgrade the required packages from the repositories in these services.
