Setting Up Server Inventory

The following changes were made in this section:

Location Change

Setting Up the Inventory Database for MS SQL Server 2000

Rewrote the section, Configuring the Inventory Database for MS SQL Server 2000.

Creating the Inventory Database for Oracle8i on UNIX

Specified the Oracle versions (Oracle 8.1.5, 8.1.6, or 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition) supported by the Inventory database on Unix.

Creating the Inventory Database for Oracle8i on a Windows NT/2000 Server

Specified the Oracle versions (Oracle 8.1.5, 8.1.6, or 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition) supported by the Inventory database on a Windows NT/2000 server.

Configuring the Server Inventory Policy

In Step 8.f, explained how to configure the Custom Scan Editor.

Stopping the Inventory Service

Deleted the following the paragraph:

To stop all the Inventory services on a Windows NT/2000 Inventory server, at the server console prompt, execute stopser "*" from Inventory_server_installation_directory\inv\server\wminv\bin directory.
