If your initial installation of Policy and Distribution Services on a UNIX* server fails for some reason, or if some of the software files are damaged or inadvertently deleted, you will need to reinstall Policy and Distribution Services on the UNIX server.
Identify the UNIX servers that need Policy and Distribution Services reinstalled.
Complete Step 1 through Step 3 in Removing the Software on UNIX Servers .
Do not delete any eDirectory objects when you are going to reinstall the software.
Follow the instructions in Installing Policy and Distribution Services on a UNIX Server .
In Step 2 in Editing the TED Configuration File , be sure to specify the existing Distributor and/or Subscriber objects for the UNIX server where you are reinstalling the software.
Follow the instructions in Starting the Policy and Distribution Agents on UNIX to get Policy and Distribution Services running again.
