Creating a Group

  1. Click the Create New Group link.

  2. Provide a name for the group. The new group is created and the View/Edit details page appears allowing you to provide group details.

  3. Modify the group using the Basic, Permissions, Members, and Transactions tabs. The options contained in each of these tabs are explained below.

Tab Description

Basic

Set and view basic information about the group, including the group name and description.

Permissions

Set and view the permissions associated with the group, including the administrators assigned to the group, the channels available to the group, and e-mail notifications for this group.

Members

Set and view the members of this group.

To add a machine to a group, you must have Grant permission for the group and Modify permission for the machine.

Transactions

Set and view the transactions that are to be performed by members of this group.

Any transactions created when modifying a group are performed only by the current group, rather than the members of the machine set.


Viewing Groups

  1. Click the Groups link in the Novell ZENworks Linux Management Web interface.

  2. The name and description of each group you have created appears in the Groups list. To view details about any group, click the group name.


Deleting a Group

  1. In the Groups list, click the name of the group you want to delete.

  2. The basic information tab is displayed. Click the delete button and confirm the deletion.


Modifying a Group

  1. In the Groups list, click the name of the group you want to modify.

  2. Modify the group using the Basic, Permissions, Members, and Transactions tabs. The options contained in each of these tabs are explained below.
