To track license compliance status of Novell Open Enterprise Server, first you should know the sources of Open Enterprise Servers and then configure these sources.
To configure a new source of Open Enterprise Server:
In ZENworks Control Center, click Configuration >Asset Management.
In the Asset Management page, go to License Information Sources panel.
Click New > Open Enterprise Server. In the New Open Enterprise Server Source Configuration dialog, specify the following details:
Source Name: For identification, provide a name for the new eDirectory source of OES for which you want to configure and track license compliance.
Server Address: Specify the IP address of the remote eDirectory source of OES for which you want to track license compliance.
Port : Specify the port on which you need to query the OES user details. For example, 389 (for normal connection) and 636 (for secure connection).
Context : Specify the eDirectory object or the LDAP object through which you need to query the OES user details.
Server Credentials:
You can either add a new eDirectory login credential, or browse and select an existing eDirectory login credential. For details on adding a credential, see Adding a Credential
.
Verify Connection: Click this button to verify that the connection to the specified remote eDirectory source of OES is possible. When the connection is successful, the Connected to remote server message will be displayed.To click OK and proceed, you need to verify the connection.
The following messages are displayed when you click Verify Connection based on the availability of the remote eDirectory source of OES:
Connected to remote server: Displayed on successful connection to the remote eDirectory source of OES.
Unable to connect with the server: Displayed when the specified IP address of the remote eDirectory source of OES is wrong or when connection to the specified remote eDirectory source of OES is not available.
When you verify the connection for the first time, the certificate information is displayed. To view the certificate, click the View Certificate link. Clicking this link is not mandatory for completing the configuration.
Select the Create Catalog products, licensed products, and entitlements automatically check box to automatically create the catalog products, licensed products and entitlements for the configured licensed information source.
Click OK.
The newly added eDirectory source of OES will be listed under the License Information Sources panel with the following details:
Server Address is the IP address of the eDirectory source of OES.
Last Connection Status could either be failed, succeeded or unknown.
The Edit Open Enterprise Server Source Configuration dialog enables you to edit the details of an existing OES source.
Select the check box next to the eDirectory source of OES that you want to edit.
Click the Edit drop-down.
Click Configure Settings to launch the Edit Open Enterprise Server Source Configuration dialog.
Modify one or all of the following details and then proceed:
Source Name
Server Address
Port
Context
Server Credentials

The Rename Configuration dialog allows you to modify the name of the existing Open Enterprise Server source. Modify the name of the configured OES source and click OK.
