NetWare has been enhanced to allow you to create up to four NetWare (or other) partitions on one hard disk and to let you install the advanced Novell Storage Services (NSS) file system. In addition, a new device numbering scheme has been created that lets you easily identify all storage devices as they appear in various NetWare utilities and command displays. For general information about NetWare partitions and device numbering, see Understanding. For information about the NSS file system, see Contents > Novell Storage Services (NSS).
The MONITOR utility provides important disk use statistics. Use MONITOR to assess disk space and to activate or deactivate storage devices.
The NWCONFIG utility contains much of the functionality previously found in INSTALL. Use NWCONFIG to create volumes and partitions and to establish partition mirroring. See Managing for information about using MONITOR and NWCONFIG.
To optimize the use of your server's storage devices, follow the general recommendations found in Optimizing.
