Novell Education Delivers Edge '95 With Global 'Perspective'
Conference To Provide Novell Authorized Education Partners
With Latest Information Technology Trends
--February 28, 1995--EDGE '95--With its worldwide theme, "Change Your
Perspective and Change the World," Novell Education's Edge '95
conference will explore the future direction of the Information
Technology (IT) training industry. In its second year, the Edge
conference is exclusive to Novell Education's authorized training channel
and select industry partners and participants. Novell Education says the
conference will prove to be even "bigger and better" with its commitment
to strong conference content and increased partner involvement.
"Edge is an exclusive opportunity for Novell Education to share
our vision for networking and network applications training across the
globe," said Carolyn G. Rose, Vice President and General Manager of
Novell Education. "At Edge '95, Novell Education will share our
perspective and have that perspective enriched by interaction with our
very best partners on a global basis."
EDGE '95 OFFERING
In addition to meeting with Novell Authorized Education Center
(NAEC) and Novell Education Academic Partner (NEAP) managers, Edge
'95 participants will learn about issues, trends and forecasts affecting
Novell's authorized education channel. According to Rose, participants
will hear about the latest learning and training strategies and technology
advancement from industry experts, as well as tips on expanding their
business.
Keynote speakers from Novell, Inc. include Bob Frankenberg,
Novell Chair, President and CEO (in person in Florida), Carolyn G. Rose,
Vice President and General Manager of Novell Education, and Rohan
Champion, Vice President of Novell Corporate Strategy.
BREAK-OUT SESSIONS
Besides sharing Novell Education's perspective, channel
feedback is also a key element on the conference agenda. Break-out
sessions will be presented to teach NAECs/NEAPs how to improve their
businesses; large exhibit areas will offer solutions and demonstrations
for running better businesses; and new education announcements will
be shared.
EDGE '94 SUCCESS
Introduced to the channel in 1994 as part of the "New Era" in
Novell Education, Edge enters its second year on a high. More than 500
attendees went to last year's conference in Dallas, Texas alone, with a
total of 850 attendees worldwide.
According to Tim Luck with Memorex Telex in the United Kingdom,
the first Edge conference provided an excellent opportunity to talk with
other Novell authorized channel partners and see how they do business.
"We've been given some good ideas on growing our NAEC," he said.
"Edge is easily the best benefits conference I've ever attended,"
said Rich Debaun of Mt. Sierra College in Pasadena, Calif. "It's a terrific
opportunity to meet people who have the same problems we do and to
find solutions that we might not have thought of by ourselves."
VENUES
Edge '95 begins its worldwide tour in Boca Raton, Fla. June 5-7.
Other conferences are scheduled in Amsterdam, Netherlands June
11-13; June 18-20 in Phuket, Thailand; and June 22-24 in Terrigal,
Australia. Edge venues have been specifically chosen to help partners
network with each other and learn new ideas.
For the Americas conference, call 1-800-385-3805 to register.
For other conferences, Novell authorized channel partners should
contact their Area Education Managers (AEMs). Due to limited space,
early registration is suggested. Participants registered by March 13 will
receive a gift from Novell Education.
NOVELL EDUCATION PERSPECTIVE
Novell Education's mission is to drive global pervasive computing
through quality education programs and products. Since 1988, Novell has
championed a leveraged model of reaching student customers, wherein
NAECs around the globe provide instructor-led training and self-study
options for student customers. In 1995, Novell's 1,300 NAECs and NEAPs
will teach three quarters of a million student customers.
In addition to pioneering the leveraged education model, Novell
Education also pioneered certification in the information technology area
with its industry-leading programs. Certified Novell Engineers (CNEs) are
the global standard for servicing and supporting networking; Certified
Novell Administrators (CNAs) are the global standard for administering
networking and network applications; and Certified Novell Instructors
(CNIs) are the global standard for teaching networking and network
applications. Currently, there are more than 50,000-plus CNEs, as well
as 80,000 CNEs "in progress." There are 4,000-plus Enterprise Certified
Novell Engineers (ECNEs), more than 40,000 CNAs and greater than
3,000 CNIs.
